Creating Resilient Livelihoods for Farmers
Cocoa farmers often face significant socio-economic challenges during the off-season, when income from cocoa is limited and household expenses remain constant. This seasonal vulnerability makes it difficult for farming families to achieve financial stability and long-term growth. To address this gap and provide year-round security, the “Beyond Cocoa” strategy was introduced.
The initiative focuses on creating alternative livelihoods and diversified income streams that reduce dependence on a single crop. By promoting agro-diversification, sustainable value chains, and new business opportunities, it empowers farmers to build resilience, improve their quality of life, and strengthen their communities well beyond the cocoa harvest.

Farmer Investment & Diversification

Value Addition & Circular Economy
Sustainable Peanut Processing with Environmental Impact
We are establishing a 1 MT/hour organic peanut and groundnut processing plant in the Volta Region, directly supplied by our organic farmer value chain. By integrating production and processing, we ensure consistent quality for both local consumption and export markets while creating new income opportunities for farming communities.
Beyond its economic benefits, this initiative actively supports the conservation of the Avu Lagoon ecosystem, protecting the endangered Sitatunga and aquatic life through eco-conscious farming practices. It is a model of how industrial growth can go hand in hand with environmental stewardship and community resilience.

Driving Rural Industry Through Banana & Plantain Processing
With the support of Kampani’s subordinated loan, the Group is nearing completion of its state-of-the-art banana and plantain processing facility. This marks a major milestone in our commitment to driving industrial growth and fostering rural development.
This development represents yet another chapter in our Beyond Cocoa Strategy—a bold step towards value addition for banana and plantain cultivated by our network of over 5,000 organic-certified farmers across the Eastern, Western, and Volta Regions of Ghana.

Securing The Organic
Cocoa Value Chain
We are committed to using sustainable agricultural programs that respect the environment to bring development to underprivileged people in our designated farming communities, improve the quality of life of cocoa farmers as well as to provide basic social amenities to make a better life for farmers to see agriculture as an attractive business venture.
Our partners understand that sustainable socio-economic impact projects contribute to sustaining the future of the organic cocoa value chain.
Investing in our Communities
Our Strategy

Turning Organic Harvests into Premium Products
Yayra Glover Limited, through its food processing wing is committed to promoting high-quality organic cocoa-based products including chocolate and other confectionery. With collaborative efforts on expertise, machinery, and technology, Yayra Glover Food and Beverages plans to expand into a mainstream processor of other food products from our over 5000 certified organic farmers. This project not only promotes and celebrates a model of North-South Cooperation but also promotes skill transfer and highlights the power of comparative advantage.
Other Initiatives
Restoring Nature, Sustaining Farms
Our Agroforestry and Regeneration Programs are designed to restore and protect vital ecosystems while improving the long-term productivity of cocoa and other crops. Through reforestation initiatives, shade-tree planting, and soil restoration activities, we help create more climate-resilient farms and healthier landscapes.
By combining modern agroforestry practices with traditional knowledge, these programs not only safeguard biodiversity but also enhance soil fertility, regulate microclimates, and provide farmers with sustainable, long-term benefits for their communities.
Organic Peanut Value Chain
In the Volta Region, the group is poised at establishing an organic groundnut/peanut value chain to supply its operational nut processing facility. This initiative is part of a backward integration strategy for Yayra Glover Foods and Beverages and contributes to conserving the unique ecosystem of the Avu Lagoon area.
Here, the habitat of the Sitatunga and aquatic life endangered by poaching and unsustainable farming practices are being protected through eco-conscious interventions.
