Local Formulation Plant for Organic Insecticides:
YGOIL intends to establish a local formulation plant in Suhum, Ghana, to process and formulate Agropy 5EW concentrates sourced from Rwanda into finished products. This will address logistical challenges, reduce costs, and enhance market accessibility.
Key Actions:
- Establishment of Formulation Plant: Set up a modern formulation plant equipped with machinery and infrastructure for processing and diluting Agropy 5EW concentrates. Collaborate closely with Agropy in Rwanda to ensure knowledge transfer and expertise in formulation. Implement stringent quality control measures to maintain consistency and compliance with international standards. Customise packaging to provide clear instructions, safety precautions, and product benefits for organic cocoa farmers. Establish a robust distribution network to effectively reach organic cocoa farmers and agro-dealers across Ghana.
- Product Customization and Support: Conduct research and development to develop customised application guidelines and best practices for organic cocoa farmers. Collaborate with cocoa farming cooperatives, agricultural extension services, and research institutions to provide training and technical support. Conduct field trials and demonstrations to showcase the effectiveness of Agropy 5EW in organic cocoa production. Establish a dedicated customer support system to address farmers' queries, provide guidance, and ensure proper usage of the product.
- Production of Pyrethrum-Based Aerosols for Public Health: YGOIL aims to diversify its product portfolio by producing pyrethrum-based aerosols as a public health product for mosquito control in Ghana and West Africa. These aerosols will offer an organic alternative to conventional and potentially harmful mosquito repellents on the market.
The proposed diversification strategy for Yayra Glover Organic Inputs Limited (YGOIL) encompasses the establishment of a local formulation plant for organic insecticides, production of pyrethrum-based aerosols for public health, collaboration with stakeholders, and a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system. By implementing this strategy, YGOIL will not only address logistical challenges and reduce costs but also cater to the needs of organic cocoa farmers and contribute to mosquito control efforts in Ghana and West Africa. This will position YGOIL as a leader in the organic inputs industry while promoting sustainable agriculture and public health in the region.
